A few coworkers and I took a trip to Atlantic City again this evening. I had some pretty good luck at the blackjack tables tonight. On the way out, the casino across the parking lot caught my eyes. I mean, how could it not? The whole building appears to be an electronic billboard!

It was time to hit the tables tonight at the Borgata in Atlantic City, New Jersey. This was the scene of the heavy Jersey Shore fog invading the resort and casino sign. I snapped a few pictures before heading in to try my luck at some blackjack and craps. This one is my favorite of the short series that I captured.

A few coworkers and I went out in Center City Philadelphia tonight to a bar called Monk’s. They have an expansive list of Belgian beers available at Monk’s. Just watch out, the alcohol content on Belgian brews is higher than your typical American beer. While I was waiting for my partners in crime for the night to show up, I fiddled around with taking some photographs using the Leica point and shoot. I have not been carrying the Leica around with me as much as I once was, but I was glad I brought it tonight. This bright red banister against the jet black wall provided a very nice contrast to make an interesting photograph.

The snow is practically coming down sideways tonight. Right outside of the hotel’s front door it is sticking to the walls. The light shining straight down from the ceiling created this dynamic lighting on the textured wall. The snow sticking to it added even more texture. This was one of those photographs that I knew would come out great no matter how I shot it. I am learning more and more that good light is everything in photography.

My fiancee and I were out and about today with a few missions in mind. One of them was to find the last few remaining presents we need for my family’s late Christamas celebration in a few weeks. The other mission was to find our wedding bands for our wedding coming up in September. We know the date is going to be here before we know it, so we are trying to take care of as many of the details as we can right now. We lucked out big time at Bailey, Banks, and Biddle. They are going out of business and we caught them with only nine days left to go. Almost all of their jewelry was discounted by sixty to seventy percent!
After checking off one of the two to-do items from our list, we decided to grab a bite to eat. As we were walking towards the end of the Tyson’s Corner mall where all the restaurants are located, we stumbled upon this fancy restaurant smack dab in the middle of all the stores. The restaurant is called Wasabi, “Modern Japenese Cuisine”. We did not eat at Wasabi today because both of us were in the mood for food that is more hardy then sushi. However, that did not stop me from whipping out the Leica point and shoot camera and grabbing some pictures from the second story of the mall and down below at restaurant level. We are looking forward to returning to the mall to try out Wasabi in the near future. When we do, I will update this post with a mini review.
