I know I am WAY behind at this point in posting all the pictures from the Photo365 project. I assure you that all of the pictures have been taken. Slowly they are making their way up onto Flickr and then onto the project blog here.
This picture of one of my nieces was taken back in April. It feels like forever ago. It was an extremely mild April afternoon when I was in New Jersey visiting for the weekend. My nieces was outside playing with some bubbles with the new family dog, Sofie, so I decided to join the two of them and take some pictures. This is one of my favorites from the whole weekend.

iPhone @ f/2.8
I was out playing golf this morning when I crossed paths with these deer. I knew that shooting into the low sun would cause lens flare and decided that I would use the flare as an element in the photograph. Although the flare wound up dominating the frame, I am still satisfied with the shot taken by my iPhone 3G.

1/6 sec @ f/8.0, ISO 3200, 100mm (EF100mm f/2.8L Macro IS USM)
This is another version of a photo I did way back on August 19, 2009, called “Grrwww”. I decided to try the macro lens out this time on the magnet from Hawaii. I also added a tilt in the framing when frame. The dark red preset is a great fit for the menacing look on the figure’s face.

1/15 sec @ f/2.8, ISO 3200, 100mm (EF100mm f/2.8L Macro IS USM)
Tonight I continued to play around and get to know my 100mm f/2.8L macro lens some more. The subject getting the close up treatment tonight was my Microsoft Arc mouse. Because the color image was lacking interesting colors, I decided to process this photograph as a black and white. I used a preset called Matt’s Sin City: Dark Red by Matt Kloskowski.

Photo365-20100317 – Everyone’s Irish Today, originally uploaded by HokiePerogi.
iPhone @ f/2.8
Tonight I went out with a handful of coworkers to celebrate Saint Patrick’s Day. During our dinner at a very non-Irish bar I snapped this picture from the hip with my iPhone. It certainly is nothing special. It was the dancing lights on the ceiling that I was going after. But due to the iPhone’s lack of a zoom, I got a bunch more than just the lights.

1/50 sec @ f/1.8, ISO 3200, 50mm (EF50mm f/1.8 II)
I swear there is a shadow in this photograph! At least it was there on my MacBook Pro when I was editing the photo. However, it seems now that I am typing this entry from the iMac computer in our office, the shadow is much less visible. This validates the suggestions by many professionals to always do your photo editing on the same computer and in the same lighting conditions.

1/30 sec @ f/2.0, ISO 160, 5.1mm
Can you guess what this is? Or even where it can be found in a house? I had the Leica set on macro mode allowing me to get in nice and close and get a nice gradual out of focus effect as your eyes move from the bottom to the top of the photograph.

1/13 sec @ f/1.8, ISO 3200, 50mm (EF50mm f/1.8 II)
This was the view out of my hotel room window tonight. Some kids staying in the hotel, and probably their dad, stomped out this message to their mother. The widest lens I currently have in my camer bag is the 50mm. I hope to change that real soon, however, for now I make due. With a wider lens, I would have liked to capture more of the surrounding area, but the 50mm lens only gave me this field of view. To add a little pop to the photograph, I used a preset to introduce a bit of a sepia effect and then pushed up the vignette a bit more.

Photo365-20100208 – Luckily, No Twins on Tricycles Here, originally uploaded by HokiePerogi.
1/30 sec @ f/4.0, ISO 3200, 24mm (EF24-105mm f/4L IS USM)
This photograph reminds me of the movie “The Shining”. I used a preset called Matt’s Red Max Payne Effect to give the photograph the red, creepy feeling.

Photo365-20100124 – HIttin’ the Road, originally uploaded by HokiePerogi.
1/30 sec @ f/1.8, ISO 3200, 50 mm (EF50mm f/1.8 II)
I was about to head out the door for another week on the road when I remembered that I still needed to take a picture for the day. I decided to snap a picture of all my “luggage”. Two out of the four pieces of luggage are strictly camera gear. The two bags on the left contain my camera, various accessories, a portable light stand and convertible umbrella, tripod, and Wacom tablet. I figured that I can never be too prepared for being able to take pictures and work on them while I am hanging out in my hotel room each night during the week.
I used Matt Kloskowski‘s “The Cutting Edge” Lightroom preset in post.
