This is another version of a photo I did way back on August 19, 2009, called “Grrwww”.  I decided to try the macro lens out this time on the magnet from Hawaii.  I also added a tilt in the framing when frame.  The dark red preset is a great fit for the menacing look on the figure’s face.

Behold the latest gadget to join our collection.  This is the iPad.  I originally thought I was not going to get one.  But, because of a pretty poor morning a few days ago, my fiancee and I decided to go on an iPad “Easter egg” hunt.  I fully expected not to be able to find one on the morning they came out.  But low and hold, Best Buy only had one guy on line when we got there.  Ultimately, we were number eleven and twelve in line to receive our iPads when the store opened.  Pictured on the screen in this photograph is the origami slide show in the picture frame mode.

Mmmm, Easter Brunch.  Eggs, bear claw pastries, candies, and more.  I thought I would snap a few pictures before the family tore into the meal.

Tonight was another run and gun night.  I whipped out a five dollar bill from my wallet and took some macro shoots of Honest Abe.  I wanted to see how the printing looked under the microscope of the macro lens.

It was time to hit the tables tonight at the Borgata in Atlantic City, New Jersey.  This was the scene of the heavy Jersey Shore fog invading the resort and casino sign.  I snapped a few pictures before heading in to try my luck at some blackjack and craps.  This one is my favorite of the short series that I captured.

A few coworkers and I took an after hours trip down to Atlantic City tonight.  I was lucky enough to ride shotgun on the way down there.  I made sure to have my camera bag up front with me to attempt to take my picture for today before getting to the casinos.  You never know when you will walk back out of those places once you go in.

Today’s picture is of the cruise control settings on the steering wheel of my coworker’s rental car.  I love how the 100mm f/2.8L Macro can make even the most every day objects just a bit more interesting.

What’s for Breakfast?

I wanted to play around with the new 100mm f/2.8L Macro lens a bit more tonight.  I always thought that having a macro lens would open up endless possibilities of subjects to shoot in every room.  Unfortunately, it has not been so easy since I got my first macro lens.  I was lucky enough to capture this shot of the breakfast menu in my hotel room tonight though.  I really like how the composition came out and the detail visible in the counter top.

We took a trip into Washington, DC for the night.  The plan is to go to the National Zoo in the morning on Sunday.  Tonight though, we took a photowalk down around the Washington Monument.  This photograph is of the pathway lights running all the way around the monument.  Repetition is one of the many options photographers can use to create a good composition and I definitely had this in mind when I framed up the scene.
